Ginger Brown is the Founder and Artistic Director for Ginger Brown’s Academy of Performing Arts. Ginger has personally performed or taught dance/other performing arts in Puerto Rico, Belgium, Italy, England, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and throughout the United States. She has trained with and taught alongside some of the greatest Master Instructors in the industry.
For over 40 years, Academy students have taken numerous top honors in Regional and National Talent competitions, as well as top National Choreography Awards. Academy students have had the opportunity to travel and make special guest performances in England and South Korea Arts Festivals, Cruise Ships, ½ time show Tribute to the Great Smoky Mountains for UTK at Neyland Stadium, various Theme Parks, as well as the opening number many years for the TV production of the Gatlinburg Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade. Leah Wallin is an Academy Senior Instructor specializing in both competitive and recreational dance classes. Leah studied dance with Ginger Brown's Academy of Performing Arts for 15 years. She has trained in ballet, lyrical, jazz, clogging, hip-hop, and tap. Leah has attended many workshops and studied under renowned teachers. Leah’s professional dance career includes employment with Dollywood, Smoky Mountain Jubilee, and Country Tonite in Pigeon Forge, TN. Other spotlighted performances include Six Flags over Georgia, Carnival Cruise, and the international folk festival in Alnwick, England. Leah’s well-rounded knowledge of dance qualifies her to judge dance competitions all over the country with Primetime Talent. Leah has taught at Ginger Brown's Academy for the past ten years and is proud to be part of the staff.
Priscilla Simms is an Academy Senior Instructor specializing in competitive and recreational dance classes. Priscilla is from Chattanooga, TN and has been dancing at Ginger Brown's Academy of Performing Arts for __ years. She is proficient in teaching ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, baton, and clogging. While on the Entertainment Troupe at the Academy, Priscilla participated in numerous national dance competitions and performed at locations across the Southeast. Priscilla’s professional dance career includes employment as a “Kuntry Kuzin” entertainer at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. Priscilla has also performed in entertainment shows at many well-known locations including Lake Winnepesaukah , Opryland, Six Flags over Georgia, and Neyland Stadium. After graduating from GPS in 2000, Priscilla attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Health Education. She then went on to Vanderbilt University in Nashville to earn a Master's degree in Nursing. As well as teaching dance, Priscilla is working as a Nurse Practitioner in Chattanooga, TN. After moving back to Chattanooga in 2008, she immediately rejoined the Academy family and started teaching again. Priscilla feels lucky to be a part of Ginger Brown's Academy of Performing Arts and loves teaching dance to children of all ages.
Whitney Hollifield is an Academy Senior Instructor specializing in competitive dance and tumbling classes. Whitney is from Ringgold, GA and studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, clogging, and tumbling at the Academy for 14 years. As a competitive dancer, Whitney won many awards and was selected at a national competition as a top tap soloist. Whitney’s professional dance career includes working as a performer at Dollywood, Gatlinburg, and the Chattanooga Choo- Choo. She was also lead choreographer for the Tivoli Theatre’s production of High School Musical. Whitney has studied at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC, as well as under choreographers from Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. Whitney attended the University of Georgia where she studied ballet, tap, and modern dance for 3 years. She is now a teacher at Ridgeland High School where she is also the Head Cheerleading Coach. She feels extremely blessed to be able to combine her passions of coaching and dancing here at the Academy.
Emily began dancing at age 3 at the Peninsula School of Performing Arts in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. At age 11, she auditioned and was accepted into the Lunada Bay Dance Peninsula Ballet Company. Under the direction of Patricia Standar, Emily was a senior company member for 4 years, and traveled twice with her company to Regional Ballet Competitions. In these regional competitions Emily performed pieces by Alex Kalinin and Marina Kalinina. When Emily was 16, she moved cross country with her family to Hendersonville TN, where she auditioned for the Nashville Ballet and was accepted into their summer intensive program. In addition, Emily is also is trained in Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Tap,and Modern. Emily also continued her training at Smartt Steps dance studio in Hendersonville, where she competed in competitions with their senior company. She taught all ages at Smartt Steps before joining the Academy Staff. Emily attends the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is starting her senior year this fall, she is so excited to share her passion and love for dance with the Academy!
Regan Luckey is an Academy Senior Instructor specializing in competitive and recreational dance and tumbling classes. Regan is trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, and tumbling/acrobatics. She trained and competed with Acro Dance Express of Nashville, TN, and was chosen to be a member of their “Elite Program”. She also taught there before joining the Academy Staff. She has trained with Tucker Knox, Joy Spears, and Erin Ellis of So You Think You Can Dance, as well as other distinguished dancers and choreographers such as Travis Cooper and Chris Fedun. Regan was accepted into the Chicago Ballet at the age of 14. Other awards and honors include Masquerade Dance “Parade of Stars” recipient, 7-Time National Competition Winner, and Varsity Spirit Cheer & Dancewear Model. Regan attends the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she was a member of the dance team. This is her fourth year as an Academy instructor.
Courtney Richardson is an Academy Senior Instructor specializing in competitive and recreational dance classes. Courtney is from Ringgold, GA and studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, clogging, and tumbling at the Academy for 14 years. Courtney was both a competitive dancer and cheerleader. She won several top awards nationally and was a finalist in the GHSA State Cheerleading Competition. Courtney has attended several workshops and has studied under renowned choreographers including those from So You Think You Can Dance. She attended Dalton State College, works at Chattanooga Imaging, and has been teaching dance for several years. She is happy to be back at the Academy sharing her love for dance. Courtney's 3 year old daughter, Kailyn is following in her mother's footsteps at the Academy.
